Dolly’s Day Benefit, a fund-raiser to benefit Dolly Martin, will be held 2-9 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at the Buffalo Inn.

The occasion will feature seven bands and a day with Dolly, who is battling cancer.

The celebration will include music by Bluegrass Cadillac (2-3 p.m.), String Theory (3-4 p.m.), Elmo Chesterhazy (4-5 p.m.), Tear It Up (5-6 p.m.), Leadfoot Ruthie (6-7 p.m.), The Get Backs (7-8 p.m.) and Carbon Red (8-9 p.m.). There will be food and drinks available during the day, an art sale and a raffle. The entry price of $5 per person includes one raffle ticket.

Martin, a mother of four and a grandmother, is known for her high energy, her many talents, her devotion to work, her animals and her friends, as well as her artistic talents.

A fellow worker, Stan Gill, writes: “I work for Dolly Martin. I have never met a harder working person, a more dedicated and fair boss. She is integrity personified.

“She needs our help, Pagosa. I have lived in this community for 33 years and I know Pagosa rallies around those in need. Dolly is one of our own and she is a fighter. She is fighting cancer and she needs our help with the medical costs that go with the fight. These costs cause stress and she doesn’t need that stress right now.

“Please help her and her family by donating to her cause and going to the benefit for Dolly at the Buffalo Inn on May 12.”
