The April 18 meeting of the San Juan Stargazers is a must-see for anyone who has a computer with Internet access. It will open the universe to you.
The new starting time for meetings at the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room is 7 p.m. Decaf coffee is served. There is Wi-Fi, so you can bring your laptop, iPad or whatever portable device you have, and we will also have a computer with a projector and big screen.
Those in attendance will explore many websites related to astronomy. If you have a favorite, you will be able to share it with the group.
Visitors are always welcome at the meetings of this diverse group, with members ranging from high school age to senior citizens and club members are glad to see anyone who wants to learn more about the wondrous universe.
San Juan Stargazers’ regular meeting day is the third Thursday of each month. The purpose of the club is to educate members and the public about astronomy. The main qualification for membership is how much wonder you feel about our unbelievable universe of over one hundred billion galaxies. We have exciting ideas for programs, public events and field trips. We will host a national star party in August.
The club is part of the Astronomical League, which includes clubs from all over the U.S.
