The Archuleta County Republican Central Committee and Republican Women are co-sponsoring the Lincoln Day Luncheon at noon Wednesday, April 17, at Nello’s.  This will be in place of the normal monthly Republican Central Committee meeting.

The guest speaker is Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, a national membership organization of 300,000 Americans dedicated to promoting their Second Amendment freedom to keep and bear arms.  GOA lobbies for the pro-gun position in Washington, D.C.; is involved in firearm issues in the states; and provides legal assistance to those involved in lawsuits with the BATF, the federal firearms law enforcement agency.

Pratt has appeared on numerous national radio and TV programs such as NBC’s Today Show, CBS’ Good Morning America, CNN’s Crossfire, Larry King Live and Fox’s Hannity, and his columns have appeared in newspapers across the country.  He has held elective office in the state legislature of Virginia, serving in the House of Delegates.  He also directs a number of other public interest organizations and serves as the vice-chairman of the American Institute for Cancer Research.

Tickets are $20 and include your choice of three lunch meals — lasagna with bread, spinach salad with chicken, and roast beef cheddar melt with fries.

Space is limited, so there are only a fixed number of tickets available.  If you would like to get tickets, you can call Jim Huffman at 731-9257, Marilyn Harris at 749-4499, or Barbara Rawlings at 731-9916.  There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door.  Come early to get a seat and listen to very timely comments.
