The Cottage Food Bill, passed in 2012, allows for certain foods to be produced in home kitchens for direct sales.

The Pagosa Farmers Market invites vendors who are certified under this program to participate in the 2013 market this summer.

Certification classes are being offered at the CSU Extension Office in Durango April 29-30. Registration deadline is April 15.

The cost of this ServSafe Training is $150.

An alternative to this training is an online class offered by CSU for $350. Cottage Food Products can be sold from the home, a market stand or other location, but only directly to the consumer.

To register for this class, call Wendy Rice at 382-6461. For more information on the Pagosa Farmers Market, call Abby Linzie at 731-6412.
