If you are a veteran of the United States military, you are needed to help local veterans have a strong voice for all veterans in Archuleta County.

Veterans for Veterans of Archuleta County (Vets 4 Vets) is conducting a survey to determine the needs of veterans and get a basis for grant requests. Vets 4 Vets invites all veterans to participate.

The survey takes 30 minutes to complete. Two interviewers will conduct the oral interview at your convenience.

The form is anonymous and all that is needed is a copy of your DD-214 form (discharge paper) to validate that you are a veteran. If you do not have a copy, Vets 4 Vets can furnish a form to request a copy.

The results will be shared with the Veterans Administration and Archuleta County officials to be sure that Archuleta County veterans receive their fair share of benefits and services in a rural area. The results will also provide an information base for grant writing.

Interviews can be done before or after meetings on Tuesday at Quality Resort or at your own residence. You can contact Vets 4 Vets at (970) 799-VETS (8387) to schedule an interview for the survey or you can sign up at the meetings.

Veterans for Veterans of Archuleta County is a charitable organization formed under the 501(c)(3) tax code whose mission is to provide education, referral resources, financial assistance when the Veteran’s Service Office cannot help, counseling for combat veterans and spouses of combat veterans, and fellowship in sharing experiences.

Membership in Vets 4 Vets is $10 per calendar year. If you are not a veteran and want to be supportive, you may join as an associate member without voting rights.

Meetings are held on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. at the Quality Resort, 3505 W. U.S. 160. The first Tuesday of the month is a breakfast meeting, beginning at 9 a.m. The last Tuesday of the month is an evening meeting at 6 p.m.
