How much would you pay to see one of our kitchen staff and one of our seniors jump into the freezing cold San Juan River?

Your senior center is collecting pledges for the Penguin Plunge right now in support of the programs that serve you, your friends, neighbors and loved ones. Cafe Fox meals, home delivered meals and assisted door-to-door transportation need your help, but hurry — the Plunge is Sunday, Feb. 10.

Drop by the The Den today to make your pledge of any amount or mail it to P.O. Box 1507, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147.

Cheer our nutty friends on, Sunday Feb. 10, at noon near the Visitors Center on Hot Springs Boulevard. A single $1,000 donation or more ... and I’ll jump in!

 Driver safety

The AARP Driver Safety Program has returned to Pagosa Springs and will provide a service at the Silver Foxes Den Senior Center, located at 451 Hot Springs Blvd.

The class certificate is good for three years.

Cost for AARP members is $12; non-members pay $14. This one-day course will be offered Thursday, Feb. 28, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 21, from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Call Lois O’Dell to register, 259-5589.
