Bobby Treon Glenn, 78, was taken too early on Jan. 28, 2013, in Pagosa Springs, Colo., surrounded with his loving, supportive family by his side. He passed away unexpectedly due to a serious illness.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at Pagosa Bible Church at 4 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Tom Olson.
Mr. Bobby Glenn was born in Kensett, Ark., on April Fool’s day in 1934. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Glenn, his three daughters, Velena (Carlos), Ava (John) Tina (Donna); his four grandchildren, Summer (Stever), Terrence (Aubrie), Braden and Kipp; and his five great grandchildren, Kynslie, Maddox, Kaila, Brixton and Kasen.
Bobby was the son of the late John Wesley Glenn II and Vada Grover. He has a late sister, Johnie V., who, with Bobby, moved to Hawaii with their mother and father in 1941, who was in the U.S. Navy at the time, and together survived the tragic Pearl Harbor bombing. Bobby is also survived by his younger brother, John Wesley Glenn III.
Bobby graduated from Chino High School and immediately following enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served for a total of four years on the USS Twining. Eventually, he met his wife, Pauline Bosnyak, in 1950 at East Side Dairy in San Gabriel, where Pauline worked as a cashier. Pauline and Bobby later married in San Diego at the U.S. Navy Base on Dec. 18, 1953.
Bobby loved to tell stories about his life’s experiences and enjoyed intertacting with anyone and everyone. He always found something in common and as the saying goes, “He never met a stranger.” He was an avid fisherman and loved boats, he also enjoyed watching old movies and caring for the many animals he had during his lifetime. In the most recent years he was very fond of babysitting his great grandchildren. But above all, He had a special, deep love for his wife, Pauline, who will miss him dearly.
Bobby was a great father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He is a force who will be greatly missed.
