Born in Missouri and raised in Chicago, Ill., he became a member of the 82nd Airborne during WW II. He was a school teacher and civil engineer in Texas and New Mexico.
Richard loved sports and passed this enthusiasm to his family and friends. After his retirement from the BIA, he traveled through North and South America, Europe and Asia. His latest reading included books about Egypt and love.
He will be missed by his many friends and family of five children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
