The Pagosa Springs High School has recently started a student organization called FFA (Future Farmers and Agriculturalists).

The former name of the organization was Future Farmers of America.

As a community service and possible fund-raiser, the FFA team would like to build a community garden between the high school building and the vocational building.

Members appreciate any and all help offered. We will need supplies, advice and construction support.

The end result is for the community to be able to buy shares and reap the benefits of fresh, natural produce, locally grown, while the students will benefit from running their own “business” with all the learning that is included with this experience.

Along with help for the garden, we are looking for “coaches” in a variety of events including meats judging, livestock judging and any other venture included in FFA.

Please contact Mrs. Guilliams at the high school vocational building at 264-2231, Ext. 242.
