The chance to win a free Wolf Creek season ski pass with your paid Pagosa Nordic Club 2012-13 winter season membership ends Friday, Oct. 5, at 5:55 p.m.
New this year, the Pagosa Nordic Club (PNC) is conducting an early-season membership drive, which includes a chance to win a free season ski pass to Wolf Creek Ski area, a $599 value.
PNC season memberships are being accepted now, at PagosaNordic.Com.
The first 100 members to sign up ($25/individual, $40/family) with applications received via Paypal or postal service prior to 5 p.m. on Oct. 5 will be entered into the drawing for the free Wolf Creek Ski Area season ski pass (only one entry per family or individual membership).
You can also sign up for your membership and be entered into the drawing in person between 4 and 5:55 p.m. at the Pagosa Brewing Co. just prior to the drawing. At 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, the drawing for the free season pass will take place at the brewery, located at 100 North Pagosa Blvd. Join us for this pre-season Pagosa Nordic Club get-together, as the Pagosa Brewing Company will be donating a portion of beer sales during this event to the Pagosa Nordic Club.
The drawing winner will be notified immediately following the drawing and the winner’s name will be posted on our webpage, PagosaNordic.Com.

The Pagosa Nordic Club is a nonprofit, 100-percent volunteer organization with a mission, “To enhance winter recreational opportunities in Pagosa Springs by maintaining accessible groomed winter trails for skate skiing, classic cross country skiing & snowshoeing for all ability levels and to encourage and promote the use of these winter trails through education, marketing and events.”
PNC relies on generous donations, sponsors and memberships to cover expenses with grooming and maintaining trails.
The amount of volunteer time and money needed for maintaining trails is much more than you might think. The club grooms up to six different trails and invests approximately 650-1,300 hours of volunteer time per season in trail grooming and trial preparations, depending on the frequency and amount of snow received. The operating expenses associated with trail grooming, equipment maintenance and trail supplies can exceed $5,000 per season. The club relies on membership donations, sponsorships and trail use donations to cover these operational expenses and capital equipment investments.
