County, town express support for regional recreation planning grant application

According to an April 19 press release from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), Archuleta County’s unemployment rate dropped from 4.5 percent in February to 4 percent in March.

Village at Wolf Creek granted road access in new ruling

On Friday, April 19, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circut ruled that the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) is required to provide access to a 300-acre parcel on Wolf Creek Pass that is owned by Leavell-McCombs Joint Venture (LMJV) — the site of the proposed Village at Wolf Creek.

Middle school announces third-quarter honor roll

The following Pagosa Springs Middle School fifth-grade students made the A honor roll with a 4.0 GPA: Jacob Adams, Grant Bliss, Wynnona Buchner, Wyatt Buck, Kainoa Landry, Sage Merrill-Exton, Kiara Patel, Delilah Powell, Hannah Richards, Rystle Ross, Samuel Sanchez, Riley Sanders, Tyson Sewell and Maheyla Witting.

Carol Ann White
Carol Ann Neville White passed quietly into God’s nearer presence in her Pagosa Springs residence on April 8, 2024, at the age of 84 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., on Aug. 10, 1939.
Bobbie Joy Day Smith
Born in Hamlin, Texas, in 1935. She married her childhood sweetheart, Glenn, in 1952. She was the first in her family to receive Christ as her savior. Joy went on to convert her husband, Glenn, who then became a minister, and she then served as a minister’s wife for 48 years and helped Glenn to start several new churches in many states.
