The holiday season is upon us. In the coming weeks, it will be increasingly difficult to focus on the true meaning of what the season is about: giving. Before we become caught up in the many events and messages that fill our inbox, let’s pause and remember what is most important.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement to celebrate and encourage giving back after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Join the movement and transform the lives of children and their families in Pagosa Springs by giving to Seeds of Learning on Nov. 29.

Most families in our community struggle with providing their child with affordable, high-quality early childhood education. That is why all families at Seeds are offered a reduced tuition rate. In fact, only 40 percent of Seeds operating costs are covered by tuition fees.

It is the donations given to Seeds of Learning that make it possible to offer the highest level of education in early childhood development. We need your help filling the gap between tuition and the actual cost for a child to attend Seeds. Simply put, we can’t do it without you. While Seeds’ signature Dancing with the Stars event brings in much-needed funding to the school, it does not fill this gap.

Before the end of this year, we must raise critical funds to keep tuition affordable for children in our community attending Seeds of Learning.

That’s where you come in. Our goal is to raise $75,000 by Dec. 31 to continue offering a reduced tuition fee to all our students and we need you.

Here’s how you can help at-risk children in Pagosa Springs:

• Mark your calendar and plan to give on Nov. 29.

• Make your donation reoccurring annually to help Seeds become sustainable.

• Share our campaign with your friends and family.

Only together will we be able to achieve this and help 55 families feel a sense of stability for this next year. Your support will not only enable children to thrive, but may change the direction of their lives forever.

Please consider donating by sending a check to: Seeds of Learning, P.O. Box 5831, Pagosa Springs CO, 81147 or at GrowingSeeds.org.

Seeds of Learning is a non-for-profit organization and the only nationally accredited early care and childhood center in Archuleta County. Seeds has been promoting the growth of the “whole child” while instilling the love of learning for diverse young learners in Pagosa Springs for 25 years.
