Summer season of Broadway in the Mountains winding down

With the arrival of the month of August, Thingamajig Theatre Company’s summer season has only three weeks of shows remaining. Performances run Wednesday through Sunday until Aug. 24.

“Bright Star” is on stage tonight, Thursday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Aug. 7, for a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Other performances of “Bright Star” in August will be Thursdays, Aug. 11 and 18, at 7 p.m. The romantic musical drama will take you on an emotional journey set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and telling the life story of the main character, Alice Murphy.

Three Friday evening performances of “Guys and Dolls” are available on Aug. 5, 12 and 19, all at 7 p.m. A Sunday matinee show is set for Aug. 14 at 2 p.m. and “Guys and Dolls” will close out the season on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. The Broadway classic is expertly performed by the talented summer cast and is filled with rich vocals and exciting dance.

Uplifting and a favorite of all ages, Saturday matinees for “The SpongeBob Musical” are Aug. 6, 13 and 20 at 2 p.m. Two evening performances are scheduled for Wednesdays, Aug. 10 and 17. Based on the Nickelodeon animated series, “The SpongeBob Musical” has become the summer season show adult audiences are returning to see multiple times.

Thingamajig Theatre Company was co-founded in 2011 by Tim and Laura Moore. It is an award-winning professional nonprofit 501(c)(3) theater in residence within the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts. Its talented actors, directors and production teams come from across the U.S. and around the world to produce Broadway-level musicals, comedies and dramas year-round.
