The Region 9 Economic Development District of Southwest Colorado welcomes Shak Powers as regional project manager.
Powers was most recently the Montezuma County administrator and he will be leading regional coordination and management of transit, broadband and housing initiatives throughout Southwest Colorado including Archuleta, Dolores, Montezuma, La Plata and San Juan counties as well as the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribe.
“We are thrilled to have someone of Shak’s talents join our team during this time of integration of bringing regional initiatives under our umbrella,” said Laura Lewis Marchino, executive director of Region 9. “His reputation as a big picture strategist and collaborator will benefit the entire region.”
Powers won the Economic Development Leader of the Year award from Region 9 in 2021. Powers, who resides in Mancos, will work primarily out of the Cortez Business Resource Center office. He can be reached at email@example.com.
