    Town of Pagosa Springs

The Town of Pagosa Springs is seeking letters of interest from town residents to fill an open alternate member seat on the planning commission.

The planning commission consists of five regular members and two alternate members each serving a four-year term.

A typical planning commission meeting may cover commercial development projects including multifamily proposals for design review, new subdivisions, land use permits, proposed zoning changes, and amendments to the Land Use and Development Code. You can visit and explore the featured projects and proposed development projects sections to get a sense for the recent projects the planning commission has been involved in.

Ideal candidates will be focused on moving effectively through each meeting agenda, review development applications for compliance with the adopted codes, and committed to adaptive solutions to facilitate successful growth and development appropriate for our community as directed by town council.

Duties and responsibilities include serving as the design review board and board of adjustment, and based on direction from town council, conduct research on specific policies and provide recommendations.

The planning commission is also currently serving as the Historic Preservation Board and those with downtown business district or historic structure redevelopment experience are strongly encouraged to consider this opportunity.

To be considered for appointment to this open alternate volunteer commission seat, a person must be a town resident.

Letters of interest will be accepted for consideration until Oct. 15 and may be sent to: Town of Pagosa Springs Planning Department, P.O. Box 1859, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 or via email to or hand delivered to Town Hall. Please contact the Planning Department at (970) 264-4151, ext. 221 for additional information.
