Pagosa Arts Initiative offers educational programming

Pagosa Arts Initiative

The Pagosa Arts Initiative held its first-ever kids camp last week.

Students worked in clay, mixed media, painting and drawing. They made public art by writing affirming words on the Riverwalk with chalk, explored creativity in a TASK program, used recycled materials to make sculptures and learned about Japanese gyotaku printmaking.

Education has become the heart and soul of our organization. We are now offering after-school programs for students (starting in the fall), adult programming, public art and we partner up with other nonprofits and organizations to promote art and philanthropy in Pagosa.

We are excited to announce we will be offering Drink and Paint classes to raise money for programming and organizational costs. Each class will explore a different aspect of art history. Teachers will lead a step-by-step painting class that explores a different artist, art style or famous painting. All art levels from beginning to expert are welcome to BYOB and come explore your creative side. You can sign up to paint and support lots of art endeavors at www.pagosaartsinitiative.org. Members receive a discount, so if you aren’t a member yet, become one today.
