The all-state process for high school students in Colorado is quite rigorous. Students prepare material months in advance, pay for private instruction and spend hours and hours honing their craft. The auditions take place every fall and then there is waiting for the results months later.

For the first time in the history of Pagosa Springs High School, we have our first “Triple Threat.” Ethan Mazur, a junior, made it into All State Band, All State Orchestra and All State Choir.

Hayden Kiker, also a junior, made it into All State Choir. He also auditioned for All State Orchestra on violin.

Both of these gentlemen have worked extremely hard and deserve the honors due them.

Unfortunately, in this crazy year of COVID, there were no actual festivals for them to attend. They will get the recognition of having a picture hanging on the “Pride Wall” at the school.

Both of these young men have another year as seniors to make it again and this time with actual performances with their fellow peers in the Denver and Greeley areas.
