Terrisa Marie Diestelkamp (Rodriguez)

2020/11/obit-diestelkamp-portrait-pic-head-and-shoulders-204x300.jpgTerrisa Marie Diestelkamp (Rodriguez), age 91, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21. She was born to Salvadore and Isabel Rodriquez on Nov. 14, 1928, in Pagosa Springs, Colo. She was a graduate of Pagosa Springs High School in 1946. On July 3, 1950, she married her beloved “Dee” Diestelkamp and was married to him until he passed on Jan. 14, 1988. She remained in Pagosa Springs until her death. 

She loved teaching with all her heart and taught in Pagosa Springs schools and the Headstart Program until she retired in 1987. She was an active member of IHM/JPII/Pagosa Catholic Community all her life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, community member and friend to countless people. She is preceded in death by her parents, Salvadore and Isabel Rodriguez; her husband, W.H. “Dee” Diestelkamp; her two sisters, Isabel Martinez and Lillie Martinez; and her two brothers, Samuel Rodriguez and Abe Rodriguez. She is survived by her son, George R. Diestelkamp, and his wife, Dariel; daughter Teri D. Clark; two grandsons, Arin Diestelkamp and Daniel D. Clark and his wife, Brynne; granddaughter Kira Diestelkamp; great-grandchildren Arin Diestelkamp, Deegan Diestelkamp, Aiden Diestelkamp and Brooks A. Clark; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-great nieces and nephews; and friends. 

Services will be held on Nov. 10 at John Paul II Catholic Church, 353 S. Pagosa Blvd., Pagosa Springs, Colo., with Father Kenny Udumka officiating. Burial is at Hilltop Cemetery. The Honorary Pallbearers are: Chris Gallegos, Dean Cox, Manny Trujillo and Mark Garcia. The Rosary will be recited at 9 a.m., Eulogies will be given at 9:30 a.m. and Mass will begin at 10 a.m. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given to Terrisa by personal caregivers, The Beehive in Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Mercy Hospice House in Durango, Colo., If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to Mercy Hospice House, 1 Mercado St #270, Durango, CO 81301.
