She was born in Frankfurt on Main, Germany, on June 20, 1930, to Antone and Luise Mueller. She grew up in Germany and left 1949 when she met and married Wiley W. Scoggins. The young family moved to Dallas, Texas, where Wiley was from, and began their lives together. To them were born three sons: Dennis, Garry and Ricky.

She was an excellent mother, homemaker and housewife for her family and excelled at the skills that made a house a home. The family moved to Pagosa Springs in 1972 after Wiley retired from the mason industry. Wiley passed in 1982 and Marianne remained in Pagosa.

Marianne was an avid homemaker and caretaker for her home. She was a talented knitter and crocheter; she belonged to a group in Pagosa called the Knitting Angels. She also lived with her son, Garry, and cared for his son’s health needs.

She is survived by her sons: Garry Scoggins, of Pagosa Springs, and Ricky (Phyllis) Scoggins, of Dallas, Ga.; grandchildren: Charles, April, Adam, Lena Susanne and Dennis; sister: Renata Wood; and many extended family friends and acquaintances who loved her dearly.

Sadly, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis, and her spouse, Wiley.

Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel in Pagosa Springs, 2017 Eagle Drive, on Friday, Aug. 7, from noon to 6 p.m.
