Pirates blanket Falcons, earn first win of the season, take on Basalt tomorrow

Pirate quarterback Cade Cowan turns on the jets, looking to avoid a Centauri Falcon defender with a block by teammate Grant Aucoin. Cowan finished the game with 25 yards on the ground and threw for 142 yards and three touchdowns as the Pirates defeated the Falcons 31-12 on Sept. 7.

The Pagosa Springs High School Pirate football team came out strong on both sides of the ball at home, earning its first victory of the season over the No. 5-ranked 1A Centauri Falcons by a score of 31-12 on Sept. 7.
