Get ready for fun, food and firefighters at the second annual Pagosa FireFest

Special to The SUN

The Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) will host a fun-filled and informative day of activities on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This event will be held downtown on the athletic field across from Town Park. The field will come alive with interactive firefighter activities and demonstrations suitable for the whole family. Look for the big red trucks.

There will be a complimentary lunch to include hamburgers and firedogs. This is a great opportunity to come meet PFPD members and have lunch the firefighter way.

After a very busy fire season, this is the perfect platform to promote public safety and spend quality time with our community in a non-emergent environment.

Festival activities will include kid’s games, obstacle course, photo booth, truck tours, water fun, tug of war and much, much, more.

There will also be action-packed demonstrations such as vehicle extrication and fire extinguisher use training.

PFPD is dedicated to you, your family and the community. This is backed by its mission statement, which is: “To provide the highest level of service to our community by protecting and preserving life, environment and property with honor.”

Bring your family and friends, enjoy some lunch, meet the members of your fire department and join in on some of the fun activities.
