Samey Espinosa joined his son Donnie Espinosa on March 22. He passed away at Four Corners Nursing home in Durango, Colo.
He was born in Leadville, Colo., to Frank and Connie (Atencio) Espinosa on Aug. 22, 1946. He grew up in Mintern, Colo., where he was later laid to rest.
Samey, known as “Sam,” loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his favorite, along with spending time with his family and friends.
Samey survived by his ex-wife, Mary Espinosa, of Pagosa Springs Colo.; his three sons and one daughter; Frank Espinosa (Eva), of Arboles Colo.; Paul Espinosa (Leah), of Durango, Colo.; Clarance Espinosa, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and Jennifer Sutherland, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; and grandchildren Samantha, Michela, Brecken and Trenton Espinosa, Lainey, Larissa and Mia Espinosa, Dillion and Colton Espinosa, Blailand, Kyler and Landon Espinosa, Janae and Clayton Sutherland.
Our father was known as one of the strongest men we have ever known. He truly had nine lives, and lived each one to the fullest. He will be truly missed by everyone.
