Ed Ainsworth, firefighter for the Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) and director on the PFPD Board of Directors, passed away on March 14.
A press release from PFPD Chief Randy Larson explains Ainsworth passed away in his sleep at his home.
“Firefighter Ainsworth joined the Pagosa Fire Protection District on January 1, 2011 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016 where he was Treasurer,” reads the release, adding, “A memorial service will be held to honor FF Ainsworth’s life and dedication to the Pagosa Fire Protection District.”
A memorial service honoring Ainsworth will be held on April 2.
“Prior to the memorial service, local firefighters will be accompanying FF Ainsworth’s wife, Deb, from Hood Mortuary in Durango, CO with a small [procession] of fire apparatus,” reads a separate press release. “Light refreshments will be offered after the service.”
The memorial service will be held on April 2 at 2 p.m. at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse, located at 230 Port Ave.
“PFPD requests your thoughts and support for FF Ainsworth’s family and friends during this difficult time,” reads the release.
