Wolf Creek Ski Area hosted the third Fun Race this past Sunday, Jan. 28.
With a great turnout of 54 racers from several states, Samaya Dunn de Pulido and Noah Rutter, both of Pagosa Springs, tied for the fastest time of 26.67 seconds.
Nash Rutter placed first in the Boys 6-8 with a time of 31.18, and Ryan Rich placed second with a time of 35.24.
In the Boys 9-11, Noah Rutter placed first with a time of 26.67, Nigel Rutter placed second with a time of 27.47, and Milo Deitemeyer placed third with a time of 31.87.
Cole Harper placed third with a time of 50.40 in the Boys 12-14.
In the Boys 15-17, Nolan Kay placed first with a time of 27.35.
Charlie Rutter placed first in the Men’s 41-50 with a time of 26.26, and David Filipiak placed second with a time of 30.38.
Greg Schulte placed third in the Men 51-60 with a time of 29.42.
In the Men 60-70, Phil Clum placed first with a time of 29.69 and Greg Landrun placed second with a time of 31.72.
George Myers placed first in the Men 71-plus with a time of 44.79.
In the Girls 3-5, Sierra Rich placed first with a time of 134.40.
Veda Deitemeyer placed first with a time of 34.94 in the Girls 6-8.
In the Girls 15-17, Dunn de Pulido placed first with a time of 26.67.
Becky Deitemeyer placed third in the Women 41-50 with a time of 35.65.
In the Women 51-60, Lindsey Von Lemon placed first with a time of 31.86, and Becky Henken placed second with a time of 34.26.
The next race in the Fun Race series, the Super Bowl race, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 4. It’s free with purchase of a lift ticket and open to skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities.
Feb. 4 is also Local Appreciation Day, with reduced prices for lift tickets and no ID required. Medals will be awarded to the top three racers in each division. Come on out and join us for racing on Super Bowl Sunday.
