Special to The PREVIEW
On Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 10 p.m., Pagosa Peak Open School is hosting a Pajama Party babysitting night to offer up a kicker to a festive holiday weekend.
Pagosa Springs families and visitors are invited to drop off children age 3 and up at the school for a pizza dinner, crafts, games, popcorn and a movie — while parents enjoy a night out on the town.
Suggested donation is $25 for advance sign-up, $35 at the door and $15 for additional siblings. Lead child care providers have CPR training and background checks. For advanced registration, call or text Jen at (970) 317-9237.
The school is located at 7 Parelli Way, next to Walmart.
All proceeds from the event will go towards operating expenses for the Pagosa Peak Open School — Archuleta School District’s recently authorized K-8 charter school. The school’s curriculum is project- and place-based, engaging students through outdoor education, hands-on projects and community involvement. Enrollment is currently open, with a few slots to fill in grades kindergarten through fourth. For enrollment information, please visit PagosaPeakOpenSchool.org.
This event is the first fundraising event of the school year, with other exciting to-dos scheduled for the coming months. The open school students are currently planning a winter holiday extravaganza featuring student performances and exhibitions centered on winter celebrations of cultures from around the world.
Be sure to keep an eye out for future fundraising events. You can stay up to date with the school’s happenings by downloading the school’s mobile app in the Apple or Google app stores, and/or by signing up for the school newsletter at PagosaPeakOpenSchool.org.
