Great Sand Dunes National Monument

    For the second year in a row, Pagosa Springs Middle School sixth-grade students spent two days and one night exploring and learning about the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. Students explored and learned about the Great Sand Dunes, and they rotated through stations learning about fire ecology, microclimates, local history, the physics behind the atlatl, water filtration and summited the High Dune in a team-building event.
