The Springs Resort and Spa announces its first Women’s Wellness Awareness Week Oct. 16-19.
The free series of diverse forums will be led by experts in their field and will include: De-Stress and Balance (yoga and tai chi), East meets West Wellness (acupuncture and chiropractic), Wine Down Wednesday Wellness (skin care and massage tactics) and Doc Talks (surgical and diagnostic radiology).
Each forum will discuss ideas and explore different topics related to women’s wellness. The week will kick off on Monday, Oct. 16, with a reception starting at 5 p.m. in the atrium of the three-story building and the first forum beginning at 5:45 p.m., and the second at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room. Each forum is approximately 30 minutes.
Each subsequent day will follow the same schedule culminating with the “Pink Party/Doc Talks” on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Pink Party is a reception to support breast cancer awareness. This party gives people in the Pagosa area a chance to meet and mingle with doctors and other medical professionals.
Dr. Brenda Paris, a surgeon, and Dr. Lauri Medina, a diagnostic radiologist, will each give a talk about the importance of breast cancer screenings and other women’s wellness topics. There will be live music, appetizers and beverages available during the reception hosted by Pagosa Springs Medical Center and The Springs Resort and Spa.
