Archuleta County law enforcement are looking for a white male, approximately 5-foot-9-inches tall, wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. He may be bald or wearing a white baseball hat.
The suspect was last known to be on foot in the Pagosa Springs area. He was last seen in the area of Hillside Inn at the top of Put Hill, but potential sightings have occurred the central core, Lake Pagosa, and Pines I and II subdivisions as well as neighborhoods on the east side of Piedra Road including the Cloman area.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., the suspect was called in as an erratic driver with the license plate hanging off the car. When law enforcement attempted to make contact, the suspect eluded them through neighborhoods in the Pagosa Lakes area. The suspect was then boxed in by law enforcement and bailed out of the vehicle and is believed to still be on foot.
He allegedly stole a vehicle from Denver. The plate didn’t match the vehicle, which was a stolen rental car out of the Denver area.
According to an alert from Archuleta County Office of Emergency Management, the individual presents a possible threat to life or property.
Residents are urged to check on their vehicles and shut garage doors and lock all exterior doors.
