Special to The PREVIEW

It will soon be raining cash for one lucky winner and the dogs and cats at the local animal shelter. The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs announces its first-ever Raining Cats and Dogs Raffle.

Raffle tickets are $100 each and the lucky winner will receive one-third of raffle ticket proceeds. No more than 300 tickets will be sold. Dogs and cats are not known for their math skills, but the shelter animals still managed to figure out that if all the tickets are sold, the winner will receive $10,000. Now that’s something to bark and meow about.

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs animal shelter cares for the lost, abandoned and homeless dogs and cats of Archuleta County. The animal shelter does not receive financial support from any national animal welfare organizations, and events like the new raffle and the upcoming Auction for the Animals on Aug. 25 are essential to covering the cost of caring for the nearly 700 animals that enter the shelter each year.

Raffle tickets may be purchased at the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce at 105 Hot Springs Blvd., Two Old Crows Gallery at 468 Lewis St. and Spectrum Construction at 2035 Eagle Drive, Suite 111. Cash and checks only please.

The winner will be announced during the Auction for the Animals and need not be present to win. Purchase your tickets today and make it rain for one lucky someone and the dogs and cats at the animal shelter.

The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization operating the local Humane Society animal shelter and thrift store. Donations of new or gently used items to the thrift store are welcome and sincerely appreciated. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law.
