Creede to celebrate 125th anniversary

Come celebrate with us.

Creede is thrilled to announce that it will be celebrating its 125th birthday this summer.

Creede enthusiasts near and far are invited to the festivities, starting with the Kickoff Party at Basham Park in Downtown Creede June 10.

The inaugural Creede Donkey Dash 10-mile pack burro race begins at 1 p.m. Enjoy watching or compete for great prizes in the pie-eating contest, the beard and mustache competition, the yard game triathlon, or the baby donkey race.

Watch local artists at work and sign the giant birthday card. See a reenactment of the Bob Ford assassination. Enjoy local beer and listen to live music by the Creede Pinnacles followed by Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams, and afterwards, join the sparkler parade.

Stop by the Kid’s Rodeo at the Fairgrounds June 10, the United Church ceremony June 11, the ribbon cutting of the scale model of 1892 Creede at the Chamber of Commerce on Incorporation Day (June 13), Tomkins Hardware Customer Appreciation Barbecues on June 13 and 16, the Community Center Comedian Gala June 17, the Runoff Runoff June 17, the Mineral County Fair at the fairgrounds June 17 and 18, Haunted Creede: A Ghostly Walk on June 17 and 18, plus Creede Repertory Theatre Shows, the National Small Print Show, live music, art, food and fun throughout the week.
