Special to The PREVIEW

Dining out for Easter? How about using United Way Dining Certificates and enjoying great food while helping United Way and its 12 partner agencies at the same time?

Purchase certificates for $25 and that full amount will apply to your restaurant tab, and the restaurants donate $5 to United Way for each redeemed certificate. Also consider using these certificates for employee appreciation awards at the end of this long winter season, and don’t forget that prom night isn’t too far away.

Certificates may be purchased at the Ross Aragon Community Center, Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center, the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Visitor Center, San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging, Seeds of Learning and Archuleta County Victim Assistance (now Rise Above Violence). With 22 dining establishments participating in this program, there are menus to suit virtually any taste.

Golf tournament

The 18th United Way annual Golf Tournament will tee off on June 3 at the Pagosa Springs Golf Club.

This will be a shotgun start, four-person scramble with $50,000 hole-in-one and $15,000 putting contests.

The $80 per player entrance fee covers cart, range balls, automatic entry to all contests and lunch. There will also be prizes for longest drive and closest to the hole.

Entry forms may be obtained at the golf club or by contacting Bill Hudgins at 946-1624 or billh@unitedway-swco.org. Please mail entry fees to United Way, P.O. Box 4274, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147. Come on out for a great day of fun on the course.
