Model Railroad Association fall event Saturday in Durango

The Silver San Juan division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) will hold its fall event on Saturday, Oct. 1.

The morning session will begin at 9 a.m. at the Durango Head Start Central Office, 1315 Main Ave., at the lower level trackside. The afternoon session will be held at the new SoundTraxx offices, 141 Burnett Drive, in the Durango Tech Center. Anyone who loves trains is invited. There is no charge.

The morning program will include presentations from Cres Fleming on the Rio Grande Southern, an update by George Neideraurer from the Durango Railroad Historical Society, Favorite Train Contest, and “From the Workbench” presentations of models, photos and stories from attendees. The afternoon program will include a tour of the new SoundTraxx facilities.
