obit-moodyRita Ann Moody left this world to her next journey, to a better place with our Lord and Savior.

Rita was born Sept. 18, 1930, and went with the Lord on Friday, May 13.

Rita grew up in Berlin, Wis. In 1976, she moved to Santa Fe, N.M., where she retired from her 25-year job with Quest Telephone Company.

Rita was a member of the Sierra Club in both Wisconsin and New Mexico since 1969. She was a big supporter of the humane society. She had a big heart for cats and dogs.

Rita enjoyed going on Wednesday evening picnics to the lake. It was a Wednesday thing for her. On bad weather days, it was movie and a pizza at her son Bob’s house.

In 2000, Rita moved to Pagosa Springs, where she lived the remaining years of her life.

Rita is survived by three children: Martha Jean, of Waukesha, Wis.; Jeff (Sally) Moody, of Wauwatosa, Wis.; and Bob Moody, of Pagosa Springs; four grandchildren: Luke, from Waukesha, Wis.; Stephen Walker, from Lakewood, Colo.; Kerri (Norman) Whisman, from Colorado Springs; and Chris (Jessica) Moody; seven great-grandchildren: Sterling, Keegan, Micah and Preston Whisman, of Colorado Springs; and Olivia, Scarlet and Ursa Moody, of Pagosa Springs.

Rita was loved by many family and friends. Her beautiful smile will be surely missed. Rest in peace, Rita.
