The center of attraction for Pagosa Country has always been the hot springs. With today’s column, I’m beginning a series of columns talking about what we know about the history of man’s association with the Pagosa hot springs.

These bubbling geothermal fountains captured the awe and wonder of the native occupants of Pagosa Country long before the first European intruders arrived.
