A rescue effort was executed Monday, Feb. 22, by Upper San Juan Search and Rescue (USJSAR) and the Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) for an unidentified woman who became lost in the Turkey Springs area at the Gate 5 trailhead.
In an interview with SUN staff, Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) Division of Emergency Management spokesman Mike Le Roux stated that the agencies received a page around 4:35 p.m. and arrived at the trailhead around 5 p.m.
