Pirate wrestlers return from state competition

 Five Pirate wrestlers traveled to Denver to compete in the 3A state championships last weekend, wrestling in front of thousands at the Pepsi Center.

The grapplers included Tate Hinger, Trevor Bryant, Tyler Cowan, Dalton Lucero and Jaden Hinger.

At 126 pounds, sophomore Tate Hinger entered the tournament with a record of 19-16 and lost in the first championship round to Berthoud freshman Austyn Binkly (37-8 entering the tournament) by a pin.
