This weekend, the Pagosa Nordic Club (PNC) is hosting a free learn to cross-country ski clinic and the season opener BB Gun Biathlon.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, between 10 a.m. and noon, the Pagosa Nordic Club will conduct the season’s first free learn to cross-country ski clinic at the Fall Creek Trail, located 2 miles east of the Overlook hairpin curve on Wolf Creek Pass. Look for Forest Service Road 39.

Some of Pagosa Springs’ best cross-country skiers will provide beginner and intermediate instruction for skate skiing and classic cross-country skiing techniques.

You will need to bring skis and poles, dress warm and be geared up and ready to start at 10 a.m. All local ski shops are providing discounted rentals for the clinics, just mention you are attending the clinic and ask for the discount.

Please RSVP at PagosaNordic.com, go to the events tab and scroll down to the clinic information.

The next learn to ski clinics will be held on Jan. 9 and Feb. 6.

On Sunday, Dec. 13, PNC will host the season opener BB Gun Biathlon at Alberta Park at Wolf Creek Ski Area. Sign in and course access is from the east end of the Tranquility parking lot; ask the parking lot attendant for directions. The races begin at 10 a.m. sharp, so please arrive early enough to sign in, gear up and ski down to the race course located in the Alberta Park Meadow.
