Mariano Echavarria, longtime Pagosan, passed away Nov. 23 in the Hospice House, Pueblo, Colo. He was 80 years of age.
Friends and family remember his sweet, appreciative “thank you” when someone gave him a little help. Folks at the Senior Center recall a cute little fellow, always dressed in a white, long-sleeved shirt, black leather vest and, of special importance to him, his western hat.
His devoted wife of 23 years, Violet, is thankful that she was able to be with him during his final days and thankful for all who helped them through this difficult time.
In addition to Violet, he is survived by a daughter, Lorena Lucero, grandsons Gabriel and Richy, and relatives in Mexico.
