Last Thursday, Oct. 1, the Pagosa Springs High School Lady Pirates volleyball team took on Dolores in the last of five consecutive home games, and the girls did not disappoint.

The Pirates beat Dolores in all three sets. They won 25 to 11 in the first set, 25 to 15 in the second and 25 to 17 in the third.

According to coach Connie O’Donnell, the team worked to be aggressive against Dolores.

“We tried to work on being aggressive in all aspects of the game for the entire match by keeping intensity at a high level,” she stated.

Megan Farrah led the team in kills, digs and service receptions. She made 14 kills during the game, as well as 14 digs and 16 service receptions.

“Megan had some great kills in the match,” the coach stated, “she has a great ability to put the ball where the defense is not.”

Madi and Morgan Lewis were also tough on offense alongside Farrah. Madi Lewis made eight kills and Morgan Lewis made six.

Faith Ahlhardt, Taylor Jones and Farrah stood out during the game for serving and blocking, according to the coach.
