ASTM International Petroleum Committee honors contributions of Pagosa resident

ASTM International Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants has presented the George V. Dyroff Award of Honorary Membership to consultant Roger Organ, of Pagosa Springs.

The Dyroff Award is presented for outstanding achievement in the field of petroleum products and lubricants.

D02 recognized Organ for his outstanding service to ASTM and the committee during his career. An active ASTM member for more than 35 years, Organ currently serves as a vice chairman of Subcommittee D02.J0 on Aviation Fuels. He is also the instructor of the ASTM Technical and Professional Training Program on Aviation Fuels.

Organ holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Newcastle University in England. A specialist in jet fuel manufacture and quality control, he has international experience with marketing fuels and lubricants throughout Africa, Asia, Australia and the Middle East.
