The Southwest Colorado Small Business Development Center announces a new executive director.  After an extensive search, Betty M.E. “Liz” Ross, Ph.D., was chosen to replace Joe Keck, who retired in April. Her official start date will be Sept. 1.

Ross comes to Durango from the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Management, where she served as MBA program director and AIBL (NABL) faculty advisor.  She was also on staff at the College of Rural and Community Development in Fairbanks.

Her extensive professional experience includes procuring federal contracts, fiscal management, campus director, CEO and chairman of the board of the 13th Alaska Native Regional Corporation in Seattle, and deputy director of fiscal and systems management for the Florida Children’s Forum in Tallahassee.
