According to the 2015 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report from the Alzheimer’s Association, one in nine people age 65 and older in America has Alzheimer’s disease, and an estimated 5.3 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer’s disease.

This number includes an estimated 5.1 million people age 65 and older and approximately 200,000 individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset Alzheimer’s.

Please join us in helping end Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Aug. 8, as a group of people from our community gather to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. Stop in to enjoy refreshments and participate in the many raffle drawings. The grand prize drawing will be for a flat-screen TV.

Elaine Stumpo, regional director of the local Alzheimer’s Association office in Durango, will be present at the “Fun-Raising” event to share information about the disease, as well as services and support provided by the association. She will have the latest information on Alzheimer’s disease research and care, and brain health.
