The fall sports season is just around the corner for Pagosa Springs High School, but playing on a team requires more than simply showing up on the first day of practices Aug. 17.
Prior to the first day of practices, each student athlete must complete all of the paperwork from the 2015-16 Student & Parent Athletic Handbook, which can be found either at www.pagosaathletics.com or in the PSHS front office.
Paperwork can be turned in to the PSHS front office beginning on Aug. 12 from 8-10 a.m. Athletes are encouraged to turn in paperwork prior to the Aug. 17 start of practice to avoid missing any practice.
Once turned in, student athletes will be given a blue “permit to play” card, which the athlete will then give to the coach. Without the card, a student athlete will not be allowed to participate in practice or competition.
In addition to the required paperwork, all transfer students who attended and played sports at another high school before attending PSHS must meet with Athletic Director Marcie Ham to meet additional requirements before being allowed to participate.
