Pagosa Western Property LLC, the new owner of Pagosa Springs Golf Club, entered into negotiations with the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD) concerning a raw water service agreement at last week’s regular meeting and work session.

According to Pagosa Western Property’s presentation to the board, the golf club contributes an estimated $26 million in revenue to the community annually, as well as more than $1 million in sales, use and business personal property taxes.

The course also sees an estimated 30,000 tourists annually and directly affects 528 homes located on the golf course, 6,600 Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association (PLPOA) owners and 24,000 Wyndham timeshare owners, 17,000 of which own weeks in places directly on the course.

Todd Starr and John Janowski, who comprise Pagosa Western Property, aim to create community partnerships that ensure the golf course stays open.

“We need your help to be successful, we need this to be a true partnership,” Starr said.
