Special to The SUN

Join Donovan and Jill Porterfield for some fun family outdoor adventures this summer with the Pagosa Ranger District’s Family Walks in the Woods series.

Explore easily accessible areas of our beautiful mountain woods while learning more about a unique and wonderful place — the San Juan National Forest.

Children of all ages are welcome to join the fun with the “Animal Signs, or Who Pooped Here?” program that will run from 10 until 11:30 a.m. or so.

For convenience, we will begin our adventures each time at the parking area on the left side of Piedra Road just after the first cattle guard, a little over 6 miles north of U.S. 160.
