INVITATION TO BID

Separate sealed BIDS for the 2015 Asphalt Preservation Project will be received by Archuleta County, Colorado at the office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc. located at 188 South 8th Street, P.O. Box 1208, Pagosa Springs, Colorado 81147, until 2:00 P.M. local time on July 2, 2015, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The base project involves asphalt preservation on nearly 5.2 miles of roadway including Aspenglow Boulevard, Carlee Place, Cloud Cap Avenue, Handicap Avenue, Holiday Avenue, Masters Circle, Park Avenue, Pines Club Place, and Pinon Causeway. The project includes full depth patching, sub-grade stabilization, crack sealing, seal coating (RS-90 & Liquid Road), pavement marking and traffic control.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS and PLANS may be obtained on or after June 15, 2015, at the office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc. located at the address mentioned above, upon payment of $50.00 for each set. No refund will be made for returned copies.

A mandatory pre-bid conference and inspection trip for prospective Bidders will be held at the office of Davis Engineering Service, Inc. (phone number (970) 264-5055), located at the address mentioned above, at 2:00 P.M. local time on June 23, 2015.

OPPORTUNITY TO OBJECT

Chub Draw and Gordon Creek Gravel Pit Reentry and Expansion

San Juan National Forest, Pagosa Ranger District

Hinsdale and Mineral Counties

Kevin Khung, District Ranger, has prepared an Environmental Assessment, a Finding of No Significant Impact, and a Draft Decision Notice for the Chub Draw and Gordon Creek Gravel Pit Reentry and Expansion Project. It is Kevin Khung’s intention to select Alternative 3, the Proposed Action, which would authorize re-entry into the existing Gordon Creek and Chub Draw gravel pits and the expansion of the Chub Draw gravel pit by approximately 4 acres. The project is located northwest of Pagosa Springs, Colorado in the upper Piedra area.

These documents are also available for review at the Pagosa Ranger District Office at 180 Pagosa Street, Pagosa Springs, Colorado. This draft decision is subject to administrative review (objection) pursuant to 36 CFR 218, subpart A and B. Objections will only be accepted from those who have previously submitted specific written comments regarding the proposed project during scoping or other designated opportunity for public comment in accordance with §218.5(a). Issues raised in objections must be based on previously submitted timely, specific written comments regarding the proposed project unless based on new information arising after the designated comment opportunities.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Town of Pagosa Springs has received a “Notice of Appeal” from Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust, regarding the Town of Pagosa Springs Planning Director’s determination on the exterior parking lot lighting being in violation of the Town’s Land Use Development Code regulations. The subject property is located at 211 Aspen Village Drive.

The Board of Adjustments will conduct an appeal public hearing on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 5:30pm in Town Hall located at 551 Hot Springs Blvd., to consider the facts and testimony as presented by the Town Planning Director and Wal-Mart Real Estate Business Trust regarding the Planning Directors violation determination. The Board of Adjustments may, in whole or in part, affirm, reverse, or amend the Planning Director’s determination.

Anyone wishing to receive more information and/or interested in providing comments for the Board of Adjustments consideration should contact the Town Planning Department at 970-264-4151 x225. Written comments should be submitted by June 23, 2015, to ensure they can be included into the Board of Adjustments meeting packets. Public comments will be accepted at the public hearing.
