Town Tourism Committee changes name, allocates funding

The Pagosa Springs Area Tourism Board, which until recently was known as the Town Tourism Committee or TTC (when it began receiving lodgers’ tax money from Archuleta County, it decided to change its name to be more inclusive), made several decisions at its meeting last week about how it will, or will not, spend its funds.

First, it decided to contribute $500 towards keeping the Pinon Lake water fountain operational.

“I think it’s very pretty right there,” board vice president Steve Wadley began. Wadley, who is also on the Archuleta County Board of County Commissioners and serves as the county’s representative to the tourism board, was in charge of last Wednesday’s meeting since president C.K. Patel was out of town. “It seems to give a better impression of our community.”
