An unidentified Arizona man was rescued after spending several hours in the snow atop Wolf Creek Pass Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The 65-year-old man had apparently gone out looking for a 19-year-old woman who is believed to be his granddaughter, said Thad McKain, Archuleta County’s director of emergency management.

The woman found her way back to U.S. 160 and was picked up by a Colorado State Patrol Trooper prior to the man’s rescue, McKain reported.
