The Pagosa Springs Lady Pirates played two games over the week with mixed results, chalking up a 3-0 victory against the Demons last Wednesday in Ridgway, but then losing 2-1 against the Wolverines this Tuesday in Bayfield.

The battle against the Demons was originally scheduled for tomorrow evening, but a number of Pirate players had other commitments and would have been unable to play, so coach Lindsey Kurt-Mason was able to negotiate with the Ridgway coaches and the game was moved to last Wednesday.

“We totally dominated possession of the ball,” Kurt-Mason explained. “We had 21 shots on the goal; they had two.”

In the first half, Hayley Mitchell had four shots and Johannah Laverty had three, while Alannah Gallegos, Hannah Marnocha and Olivia Reinhardt each had two. Meghan Ellis had one.
