Pirates set out for San Juan Slugfest


With a week off from official games, the Pagosa Springs High School Pirate baseball team is set to play four games in the next week before delving into league play in early April.

Much of that action will take place at the San Juan Slugfest in Utah Friday and Saturday.

Due to a scheduling conflict, Tuesday’s scheduled game against the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers turned out to be only an unofficial scrimmage, but coach Jim Fait was pleased with how the team looked compared to March 12.
